We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ve expanded our mobile ad network to include iOS. As you may already know the iPhone 5S outsold all other mobile devices this past September, and total iPhone sales are expected to reach 52 million devices by the end of the year.
With the addition of iOS, we now cover the majority of the mobile ad marketplace. While, Android captures the largest user base, with over 1 billion activated devices, iOS users are typically more motivated consumers, making more total purchases. Opera media works reports it is still seeing iPhone outpacing other phone manufacturers in terms of monetization rates.
Advertising across both operating systems is important for mobile app developers. Pew Internet surveyed US mobile device owners in May 2013 and reported that 34% access the internet primarily on their mobile phone (and among certain demographics, the rate was nearly 50%). By 2016, conservative estimates for worldwide app downloads exceed 300B.
Now that so much of the developed world is accessing the internet and using apps on their phone, getting the ads right is critical. Unfortunately, many of today’s mobile ads are not relevant and provide a poor user experience. According to a recent Forrester study, only 28% of US smartphone users found ads to be relevant. That’s why our approach is different. All our targeting is contextual and performance based, which ensures the most relevant ad will be presented to the end user. When that ad is presented, it will be a full screen interstitial with clear and conspicuous click targets and call to action.
Better targeting and better ad formats will lead to better performance for advertisers and higher monetization for publishers. Try our our mobile ad network and let us know what you think.
